Sale-a-bration on Wednesday | Time to join in the fun!

Oh! Designer Tee I Love you Lots….

Elephant Birthday card using Designer Tee and Love you Lots from Stampin' Up!

Sorry for the pun-y title today, but I just couldn’t help myself when the card uses the Stamp sets Designer Tee and Love You Lots!

I made this card for a friend who LOVES elephants, although I think it would make an equally special New Baby card too. I have been playing around with this card layout for a while now, with a wide boarder around an embossed white layer… partly because I cut and embossed far to many for a project a while back, and partly because I love it!

The Elephant comes from the Stampin’ Rewards Exclusive set Love you Lots … there is only one way to get your hands on this one, its not in the main part of the catalogue but right at the back, and you can only get your hands on it by cashing in your Stampin’ Rewards. These are points that you can earn when you spend over £150 in a single order, you have to redeem them immediately, and during Sale-a-bration you get even more… earning an extra £20 of Rewards when you spend over £200!

The card itself is pretty simple; the Whisper White card stock is embossed with the Polka Dots embossing folder, and the Elephant is stamped in Basic Grey and then cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies … although I did a bit of die cutting magic to get a smaller rectangle as the shapes in the pack are squares! The inside was also stamped with the Elephant… because we all know that your insides should never be plain!

End of Sale-a-bration Random Acts of Kindness

Oh yes, I am in full Celebration mode this month….. lets Celebrate (and Sale-a-brate!) with some Random Acts of Kindness…..

Make It Monday | Use up those scraps…..

Make It Monday how to use your scraps of designer series paper using urban underground from Stampin' Up!

Oh yes, It is Monday! I hope the start to your week is made slightly more awesome by my Make It Monday Video! My week starts with hopefully a whole lot of sleep as I am on night shifts for a couple of nights (not very happy about it really… but needs must!). However, one of the great things about my little corner of the internet and my business is that my web-store is open 24/7, so even though as this goes live I will be ready for my bed, my shop is still open and ready for your orders…. I love that!

I sent these out to ladies and gentlemen who shopped with me during February (I am hoping that they have either arrived or should be arriving today!). I love sending out a little something to my customers, I hope you enjoy receiving them too!

This card is a great way to use up those bits of Designer Series Paper left over after you’ve cut card fronts or pieces for scrapbook pages out of it. I have used strips of Designer Series Paper that vary in size from 2.5 x 10 cm to 1 x 8 cm, but really you could use whatever you have in your scrap bin!

The Grateful stamp comes from the Designer Tin of cards stamp set… which I love but seem to forget to use! it’s got some lovely sentiments and font though….

This Designer Series Paper is called Urban Underground; its a lovely combination of Basic Black, Basic Grey and Delightful Dijon on a base of Very Vanilla and contains some lovely patterns. Although it is designed with those tricky men’s cards in mind I know you could get some more feminine cards out of it too. Actually while I’m talking about cards; my current Online Card Class uses this paper to make 6 great Men’s cards and you get a Sale-a-bration item of your choice for joining in… you can find all the info on my Online Card Class page, or by clicking the image below

Happy Birthday from Avant Garden

Birthday Card stamp set sampler using Avant Garden from Stampin' Up! UK

This card came about from me playing about with the Avant Garden when if first arrived in my crafty office last week. I stamped various parts of the stamp set on a piece of Very Vanilla and made a sort of stamp set sampler… which turned into this card! I am loving this fabulous stamp set that is FREE during Sale-a-bration, all you need to do to claim your copy is spend £45 in my Online Store before 31st March

I have been playing with Mint Macaron a lot again recently (read: trying to get it out of my system before it retires at the end of May… I am already in mourning), but I don’t think I had combined it with Flirty Flamingo before now….I think I like it?!

My Favourite bit of this card though is the flower at the top, made using the leave stamp from Avant Garden, and I really need to do it again, maybe a whole card just with that one stamp…

right, that’s me blogged for today… I have a busy day of crafting planned, need to get sorted and blogged through til the middle of April before my life gets crazy at the end of March!

Advant Garden meets Rose Wonder

Sympathy Card using Avant Garden and Rose Garden from Stampin' Up! UK

Sometimes we have to make cards we don’t like, sometimes we have to make sad cards, cards that are hard to make not because its a technique we struggle with but because its for a sad occasion… this was me last week. Last week I lost my grandfather after a year long battle with Cancer, I don’t write sad blog posts, I write happy smiley blog posts about happy crafting… but this card might be the hardest card I have ever had to make.

I made two of these, one for my dad and the other for my Aunt. They are super simple, but what is more heartfelt than a hand stamped card.

The flower is from Avant Garden (FREE during Sale-a-bration, all you need to do to claim your copy is spend £45 in my Online Store before 31st March) while the sentiments are taken from Rose Wonder…. a set which I had totally not realised has several sentiments perfect for sad occasions, I had only managed to see the wedding side of this stamp set before.

I have to say though, the only thing harder than making these cards was writing in them…

For some things there are just no words…..
