12 Days of Christmas | End of Year Sale!

Ok, So the Stampin’ Up! End of Year Close Out Sale has been going on now for a couple of weeks, but I just wanted to drop in and clear a couple of things up. 12 Days of Christmas | Gift Tags and a Giftaway!

Yay! Today is the 12th December 2016, and the start of my 12 Days of Christmas series! I am so excited to be sharing 12 days of videos, projects and Christmas festivities with you, shall we get started!

How cute are theses! You could totally punch a hole in one of the top corners of these and add ribbon or Bakers Twine, but I think I’m going to opt for adding some Snail to the back and stick them straight onto the presents!

Christmas Countdown | A Gift Bag for you…..

I can’t believe Christmas Countdown has come to an end already… actually I can’t believe it is almost Christmas, I am so not ready! Heaps of shopping, crafting and visiting still to do! but I’m still hopeful that I’ll get everything done!

Now, I’m calling this my Small Gift Bag, but really you could fit heaps of stuff in here. I’m thinking posh chocolates, wax melts, mini bath bombs…. the list is endless!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper – 6 1/2 x 9″ (16 x 23 cm)

Score on the long side at 1 3/4, 4 1/4, 6 and 8 1/2″ (4, 10.5, 14.5 and 21 cm)

Score on the short side at 1 3/4, 4 3/4 and 6 1/4″ (4, 12, and 15 cm) although if you want a tall top (like the red bag) you could score at 1 3/4, 4 3/4 and 6″ (4, 12 and 14.5 cm)

Congratulations Card using Floral Phrases

Floral Phrases congratulations card using stamps from Stampin' Up! UK

As you will know if you have shopped with me, I LOVE to send cards to my customers, team members and other crafty friends, I don’t always need a reason, but I will send a card if someone has reached a milestone, or done something awesome. And so this card was one I made for one of the girls in the team a month or so ago for reaching one of her goals!

I have been trying not to stamp the Floral Phrases stamp set in Night of Navy, but its hard to avoid when using it with the coordinating Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper! The Floral image is stamped directly onto the DSP, and then the spatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge is heat embossed in Gold over the top.

I have already shared this card with the team too, we had a great night of crafty chat and card making on Facebook a few weeks ago, and I shared this as my Swap! The person I sent it to had already received it, so I knew it was safe! I’m planning on a few online team nights in the coming months on our Team Facebook Group, and I would love you to join us! Happy Birthday Blooms

A couple of weeks ago my mum had a very special birthday. Now, I always make my mum a card, but normally it’s just one, but not this year… the day before Mum’s birthday I got a mercy call from Dad asking if I was going into town at any point that day, I said “No, on a Saturday on the retail lead up to Christmas, no thanks!” but I did enquire as to what it was he wanted… a birthday card for Mum because he’d forgotten all about it! Typical man!

Now, I had already made one card, and so turned to Pinterest for some more Birthday inspiration (yes, I know that this was a danagerous thing to do with limited time!) and found this stunning card from Chantel De Kaste from the Netherlands, and took it as a jumping off point.

The stamp set that Chantel used has now retired, but I substituted it for Birthday Blooms, which is one of my all time favourites! The flower is stamped in Archival Basic Black onto Thick Whisper White to allow me to watercolour it with Rich Razzleberry ink, so pretty.

The background stamping, also in Basic Black, is taken from Awesomely Artistic. I love this stamp set for layering pieces and little details. Once it was stamped I ran it through the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and although you cant really see it on the photos, it just added an extra layer of detail. I have said before how my mum is never very impressed by my creations, and I have to say, this card didn’t get much of a response either. What do you think?

Make It Monday | Happy Ornament

Happy Ornament Watercolour Christmas card using Stampin' Up! UK Products

Welcome to Make It Monday! I have to confess, this is the last Make It Monday of 2016! as Christmas approaches I have something super special coming next week!

I’ve been loving making Christmas Cards with this stamp this year, Happy Ornament is a single wood mounted stamp and its a great price too. It is only available while stocks last however as it retires on the 3rd January 2017.

How fabulous is that colour combination?! Sweet Sugarplum, Crushed Curry and Rose Red, Not traditionally Christmas-y but I’m quite enjoying a non-traditional colour kick at the moment. We put our Christmas tree up yesterday, and my colour combination this year is purples and silvers, very pretty

Check out the video for all my watercolouring tips for this one; I will say that it was super easy to colour. The video is 8 minutes long and its all in real time, so I’m sure you could whip up a batch of these in no time!

Artful Stampers and Pootlers Blog Hop | Merriest Wishes

Cute Christmas Card using Merriest Wishes from Stampin' Up! UK

I LOVE taking part in events; blog hops, challenges, Pinterest Boards, Facebook Groups, anywhere I get to share my love of stamping with other people, and when my team leader Sam mentioned this blog hop with the fabulous Artful Stampers I just couldn’t pass this up!

I am such a sucker for non-traditional Christmas colours; I’m just not a massive fan of Red and Green (although I’m sure if you visit my blog regularly you might not think so!) and I much prefer a cooler Christmas; blues, purples and Silver. This card uses the non-traditional colours of Island Indigo and Sahara Sand (which I’m sure don’t scream Christmas at you!) along with a touch of gold, to create a cool Christmas look. I have been playing around with the Merriest Wishes bundle for a few weeks, and am loving making quick and easy tags with the dies, but using them on an acutal card has been a little tricky.

I couldn’t pass the opportunity to make a shaker card using these fabulous dies, how gorgeous is that intricate bauble?! and it was really easy to put together;

Die cut 4 tags; two solid ones in Whisper White, one intricate one in Island Indigo, and a further solid one out of Window Sheet
Add glue to the back of the Island Indigo tag, and add one of the solid Whisper White ones to the back, once this is dry use the circle die in the set to cut the hole through the middle
Adhere the Window Sheet tag using Tear & Tape, and then add a ring of Foam Adhesive Strip.
Stamp the sentiment in the centre of the other Whisper White tag, and cover with a heap of Gold Sequins (I’ve used sequins taken from the Gold Sequin Trim!)
Remove the backing from the Foam Adhesive and layer onto the Whisper White tag, ensuring all the sequins are trapped side, and there you have a fabulous shaker bauble!
