oh my goodness, it is December!!!! I am slowly preparing for Christmas, I mean, I have now managed to actually start some shopping! but one of my favourite things to do around Christmas is to make the gifts I send special by adding a hand-made touch… in this case, handmade tags.

I am loving using the Merriest Wishes bundle! Did you know when you see the bundle option in the catalogue, or on the webstore, you save 10% by buying the two items together! Isn’t that awesome?!

These tags are so easy to make, and are a great way to use up scraps of card stock too!

This shaker tag is my favourite, and you can see a card using something very similar on Sunday as part of a super special blog hop!

Question of the Day: What are you listening to right now? I tend to listen to music in the car, and am loving listening to a heap of podcasts at the moment, can’t seem to find a crafty one though 🙁

Masked Birthday Card with Butterfly Basics

Yes, it’s another Birthday card! I know, I’ve been trying to spread them out a bit, but somehow I have ended up with a few still waiting to be blogged about… they have all be sent though so I’m trying to remember which cards I haven’t shared yet!

I sent this to my gorgeous sister-in-law at the beginning of the month, yes it really has taken me all month to get round to sharing! I know, it’s shocking!

I love love love this technique! The flower is stamped onto Whisper White in Archival Basic Black ink, and then ‘coloured in’ with Fine-Tip Glue. Then comes the absolute KEY to this technique, leave it to dry overnight!

The glue acts as a mask, so that when you stamp, or sponge, or watercolor over the top the areas with the glue stay white. It is so pretty here in Melon Mambo.

Year-End Closeout, Retiring List and Pre-Order

Oh my! I can’t believe it is that time already, time for the End of Year Sale, and Retiring List release! Gifts of Love | Sympathy Card

A few weeks ago I shared my Quick and Easy Sympathy card that I like to keep on hand, but sometimes you need an extra special card to sent to someone in their worst moments.

The Gifts of love stamp set is just so pretty, and its lovely watercoloured. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, and is stamped in Garden Green and heat embossed in clear. This is one of my favourite ways to use Vellum, because Stampin’ Up! ink drys more slowly on Vellum that it does on card stock you can add clear embossing powder to create coloured heat embossing.

Gifts of Love is one of the current hostess stamp sets; these sets are exclusively available for purchase with your Stampin’ Rewards. Stampin’ Rewards are awarded to party hostesses or individuals posting orders of over £150, and must be redeemed in the order in which they are earned. You can find all the current hostess sets HERE.

The background Designer Series Paper is from the Fancy Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper pack. This paper comes as white sheets, each one with a different texture, I watercoloured it here in Pool Party to match the card base and watercolour around the flowers.

Question of the day: What type of cards do you make most? Me, I make more Thank you cards than any other kinda, although I’m sure that balance has tipped over to Christmas cards at the moment!

Make It Monday | Christmas Card and Gift Card Holder using Christmas Pines

I’ve been making a few of this style of card with a matching gift card envelope for customers ordering Gift vouchers recently. They are super speedy makes and look really sharp.

And the design works with just about any sentiment too! I mean, that Christmas card looks awesome with the Emerald Envy Glitter Embossed sentiment

The gift card holders are super easy to make with the Gift Card Envelope and Trim Thinlits dies. The die not only cuts the shape, but scores the fold lines too, so you can make a gift card holder in 10 minutes!

The sentiments on both these cards were totally hand stamped, but if you’re not confident stamping straight you could just as easily use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure level sentiments

Question of the day: What’s your favourite type of gift? I LOVE receiving gift cards, I know I’m a bit odd with that one, but I just loving being given the gift of shopping! I hate getting bath stuff, last Christmas I got 10 bottles of bubble bath! I don’t know if my family are trying to tell me something! lol

Christmas Countdown | Non-Traditional Christmas Card using Glamper Greetings

Ok, with a month to go until the big day I was hoping to be more organised this year, but alas I still have a heap of shopping to do, I haven’t made as many Christmas cards as I need yet, and I haven’t even thought about the day itself yet! but it’s ok, because I have another Christmas Countdown project for you, so enjoy while I go and panic about all the stuff I still need to get done!

A few months ago on of the lovely ladies on the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team did a super simple project stamping onto Crumb Cake card stock with Basic Black ink, I love the look, and couldn’t miss the opportunity to do something simple with this cute snowman from Glamper Greetings

Question of the day: What traditions do your family have at Christmas time? I don’t know if we really have any, both James and I are so busy around Christmas we barely see each other let alone have a tradition! Although I do make him an Advent calendar each year, really should get on with that!

Pootlers Design Team | May the Adventures continue

Wow, What a month it has been, I cant believe my final post for the Pootler’s Design Team has come around already! I have had so much fun working with this stamp set, although this final card was kind of a last minute affair, I had heaps of fun making it!

If you’re a regular here at StampinByHannah, you will know how much I love to watercolour, and usually I make a giant mess, but not this time! One of our team mottos (yes, I think it has reached that stage now, anyone from the team reading this) is “Don’t Put It Down, Put It Away”, and the whole way through making this card all I could hear was Sam saying it! Each part of the card was watercoloured, the ink pad was put away, the aqua-painter was cleaned, and I started a fresh! What a difference, I made several projects this morning, and usually my Crafty Office would look like a bomb had gone off, but not today, it’s still nice and tidy!

Although I do love the Glamper coloured in Bermuda Bay and Delightful Dijon, I do think that the background of this card is my favourite bit. I had sort of overlooked the Fancy Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper, but I received a sample pack a couple of months ago at an event, and totally fell in love with it! At first glance its just white card stock, but on closer inspection it’s actually embossed with some really cool patterns. I have coloured it a shade of Bermuda Bay here using ink and an aqua-painter, it colours wonderfully, but I would say that you do need more water than you would on a flat cardstock to get a smooth watercolour wash effect.

Question of the day: What is your favourite Christmas Craft? I love making home decor pieces, and crocheting Christmas presents, oh and making Gingerbread, and Christmas cards, and Scrapbooking the big day afterwards, oh who am I kidding, I love the whole lot!

Glamper Greetings Card and Tag combo!

Christmas card and matching tag using Glamper Greetings from Stampin' Up!

Ok, so I’m sharing a whole week of projects using Glamper Greetings this week. When my lovely friend Sam sent me this set I had so many ideas, but as always I popped over to Pinterest to check out what other people have been doing with it, and found THIS card by Tayna Boser and just totally had to make some tags with that tree!

I am totally addicted to colouring this stamp set using the Stampin’ Write Markers, I love the messy coloured look – this would be a great card to get your kids to help you with, great for teachers or those other awesome people involved in your child’s life.

I’ve used the Cable Knit embossing folder on these, I will admit that this wasn’t my favourite thing in the catalogue, but after having a play with it I love it!

Question of the day: how many cards are you sending this Christmas?

I haven’t managed to write my list yet, I know I have a heap though, but luckily I have a stack of Christmas cards already made!
