Sweet Treats Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for today’s Sweet Treats Blog Hop. I almost made a card using the Share a Milkshake bundle for this, but then the Watercolour Melon stamp set caught my eye instead.

This stamp set is currently free with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration. Here I’ve used Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Memento Black, this stamp

Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah, to 2024 and to the January-April Mini Catalogue Blog Hop!

Things are pretty exciting around here at the moment, lots of changes coming in 2024. I have to admit I had written a massive plan for the year, with classes and events and all sorts. But I have some pretty massive personal goals this year, and so (while I will still be posting and sharing) I have some other things happening in the background which mean that I’m not going to be going at things all guns blazing. Saying all of that, Today is the launch of the new Mini Catalogue, and I couldn’t pass that by without participating in this blog hop!

I made this card in a bit of a hurry, I needed an urgent Congratulations card for my father in law last week and turned to the pages of the new Mini Catalogue as inspiration.

This is part of the Natures Sweetness Suite (page 41-41) and I am completely in love with this Designer Series Paper! It’s a very simple neutral colour palette and some pretty florals, here I’ve used Pebbled Path and a hint of Petal Pink.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #158 | Special card using Textured Floral from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another Inspire.Create.Challenge. This time our challenge is to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a fabulous card by the lovely Tammy Fite. Hop over to the Inspire.Create blog to see the inspiration card and check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations (and share your own!)

Tammy’s card featured Designer Series Paper and layered die cut pieces, and this is what inspired me to create the card here…

The Designer Series Paper here is Inked Botanicals, and a colour combination that I wouldn’t reach for usually. Calypso Coral isn’t my favourite hue, however, here paired with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam I quite like it!

InspireINK Blog Hop | Best of 2023…

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for this month’s InspireINK blog hop. Each month we pick a different theme, but December we have a bit of a review of the year, and share our favourite projects we’ve shared this year… as a sort of Best of 2023 compilation.

I had a really tricky time choosing my favourite project of the year, I have had so much fun crafting this year. One of my most favourite products has been the Timeless Arrangements bundle, and so I thought I’d share a project using it again.

I do love a layered card, and this card has more layers that I can count! There is a video for this card too, which you can find HERE.

Christmas Blog Hop | A Quick Card using Merriest Trees from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for a very festive themed blog hop! I have made a bunch of Christmas Cards this year… still haven’t actually written any yet, but they are at least made!

Anyway, this card is one I part made about 2 months ago, and just couldn’t work out how to finish it. It’s been sat staring at me sadly on my desk and I finally managed to get a sentiment onto it last week!

It uses the Merriest Tree’s bundle, and Merry Bold and Bright Designer Series Paper for a very non-traditional colour combination…

Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop | A New Year’s card idea using Gift of Giving from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for the December Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop. This months Theme is ‘New Year Glam’. I had a search through my stamps, but haven’t really got anything that is specifically New Year’s related… so I thought I would stretch one of my favourite Christmas stamp sets from this year Gift of Giving.

I love this mug stamp, but the original stamp has a very Christmas-y sentiment in the middle of it. So, I masked it off and replaced it with the ‘Hello’ stamp from Biggest Wish instead. I really love colouring images like this with my Stampin’ Blends, and here I’ve used Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake and Pool Party for a fresh look.

Technique Tuesday | Two Step Stamping with Trucking along from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to this month’s Technique Tuesday blog Hop. This month the theme is ‘2-step stamping’ which might be one of my favourite techniques ever!

2- step stamping is fabulous technique, but you do need specifically designed stamp sets for it, what is great those is that Stampin’ Up! make a whole heap of different ones and I’m sure that the rest of the blog hop will share lots of different ideas. Once you’ve enjoyed this post, do hop through the rest of the blog hop using the links at the end.

This card uses Trucking Along which can be found in the Online Exclusives section of the online store. I know it was super popular in some places and so might not still be available everywhere, but we can still get it here in the UK. This card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.

One of the things I often do with 2-step stamping is stamp the most solid stamp first, and then add the detail over the top… this makes sense with floral images, but can seem a bit odd with an image like this one.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #157 | Quick and Easy Christmas Card using Merry and Bright from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge. This time we have a fun festive theme of ‘Christmas’ which could take us in a massive variety of directions, so please do hop over to the Inspire.Create blog and check out the Design Teams makes.

I was totally inspired by a card by the ever so talented Stacey Marsh. I LOVED the background she created on her card and just had to have a go too!

The card base and backing panel are in Pretty Peacock and then I added Pretty Peacock ink using a blending brush, and for a bit more interest some tone-on-tone stamped stars too!

I’ve shared a lot of cards using the Merry, Bold and Bright suite over the past month or so, and I’m a little sad that it will retired at the end of the month. But the stamps and dies are currently discounted as part of the Last Chance Sale (just add the items individually rather than using the bundle code!)

Global Design Project 422 | How to use Watercolour pencils to create a cute Zany Zoo Card

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another Global Design Project challenge. This week its a very simple sketch, almost just a grid.

I’ve not had a lot of crafty time recently, thanks to a lot of very long shifts at the day job, the enormous number of children’s birthday parties and of course all the things that need doing in the lead up to Christmas. However, I managed to find most of a day to potter around in my craftroom yesterday (being disturbed only by the ASDA delivery driver!) and so got to making something for this week’s GDP.

I haven’t used my Watercolour pencils for ages… and I think I probably need more practice! I haven’t added water (or Blender pen) to these, choosing to embrace the sketchy look. Both the stamps and the Designer Series Paper are from the Zany Zoo suite in this years Annual Catalogue, I love these cute critters! So great for kids birthday cards! (which reminds me I need to get making a card for my son’s birthday on Thursday!)

Inspire.Create.Challenge #156 | Creating an Embossing Paste Background…

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge. This time we have a really interesting colour combination of Balmy Blue, Lemon Lolly and Moody Mauve. I took a little while to ponder this one, but settled on using the ever so lovely Timeless Arrangements bundle, but needed something in the background.

I settled on using the Abundant Beauty Masks, but rather than just inking through the mask, I pulled out the Embossing Paste instead.

Top Tips;

  1. Use your Silicone mat as a holding place for your paste. I add ink to the mat and then put the paste on top and mix using a Palette knife to get coloured paste.
  2. Add more paste that you think you’ll need, you can always scrape it off or use more to add more texture
  3. Make sure you clean anything you’ve used your paste with quickly afterwards using soap and water… this stuff dries really solid!
  4. You don’t need to cover the whole piece of cardstock with paste, leaving white space can be really pretty
