Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Challenge Week 1

The lovely Sam Johnson has designed this lovely sketch this week, and it scared the pants off me! However, after about a week of staring at it, and find some further inspiration in Instagram, I finally managed to actually make something!

Stampin' Up! UK Sketch Challenge Lovely Lace Die cutting Card

Definitely outside of my usual clean and simple style, but I’m super pleased with this card. I used my favourite embossing folder, Lovely Lace, to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I love this folder so much that I actually need to replace it – its currently held together with parcel tape! Shocking I know, but that is how much use it has had!

Once I had the piece embossed I added ink around the edges of the card stock with my Stampin’ sponges, inked in Tip Top Taupe, Chocolate Chip and Blackberry Bliss. I have been taking colour inspiration from the packs of Designer Series Paper recently, and have done the same here – using the Farmers Market Paper Pack.

Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Challenge Hello You

I added two strips of the Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the card after using my Triple Banner Punch to fishtail the ends, and completed the sketch with a Vellum circle added with two Glue Dots.

The sentiment is taken from the Crazy About You stamp and die bundle, and I used my Blackberry Bliss ink to emboss the word Hello – mainly because the ink takes so long to dry on Vellum, adding some clear embossing powder and heat setting it meant that I could get this card finished! The die cut ‘You’ is in Tip Top Taupe and is attached using Tombow Multi-purpose glue.

I finished the card with four of the Metal Rimmed Pearls

World Card Making Day 2014 – Lovely Letterpress

Stampin' Up! UK Letterpress Lovely Lace

This card was such a mess to make! LetterPress is one of the ‘hot topics’ in the crafty world at the moment! I had to have a go!

I grabbed my Lovely Lace embossing folder, and Melon Mambo ink. To get this look, where the ink is on the ‘flat’ part of the design, with the white embossing sticking up through it, you need to add ink directly to the embossing folder. I add my ink to the side with the Sizzix / Stampin’ Up! logos on. Be carefully not to get ink down into the design of the folder, or you will end up with ink on the embossed elements – which we want to stay white. Then, lay the cardstock in the embossing folder, closing the folder carefully so not to move the card and smudge the ink. The run this embossing folder / ink / cardstock sandwich through your Big Shot.

The next trick is to remove the cardstock from the folder without smudging the ink! I would suggest that you leave this to dry for a little while, the card will be very wet! and clean the embossing folder quickly – I made this card a couple of days ago (yes, I’m naughty, this is the power of the blog – I’m actually at work right now!), and I still have bright pink inky fingers!

But the result is so pretty!

I finished this card with a simple sentiment from I Like You!

World Card Making Day 2014 – Blackberry Lace

This is the 5th card I’ve made for World Card Making Day 2014!

Stampin' Up! UK Blackberry Bliss Lovely Lace

Once again I’ve used the Lovely Lace embossing folder – this time on Vellum (man, I LOVE vellum! think its probably to do with making a whole heap of Wedding Invitations with it!)

This card is on Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and I’ve used Blackberry Bliss to stamp the sentiment from the I Like You Hostess Stamp Set! The butterfly is the Elegant Butterfly punch, this time with some Pearls added

Have you noticed the theme yet? each of my cards for this World Card Making Day is a thank you card! Order Stampin’ Up! products through me, and one of these cards could be on its way to you!

Mr and Mrs Congratulations Card

So, I’m still focused on weddings at the moment. I’m still planning my own, making invitations, place settings, orders of service, the list goes on and on! But I’ve also been a wedding guest a bit recently too, so here is yet another Congratulations card, Wedding style!

Stampin' Up! UK Wedding Congratulations Lovely Lace

This time I used a piece of Basic Grey as the card base, with a piece of Very Vanilla embossed with that Lovely Lace embossing folder (Love!). The wedding colour theme was grey and dusky pink, so I decided to step it up a little, and use a dark grey and brighter pink. The stamping and flower punches are in Rose Red. Once again I used that Something to Say set for the congratulations (just like this card) and for the little bit of floral stamping on the circle behind congratulations. That lovely Mr. and Mrs. stamp is unfortuneately retired now (and I’m sorry for showing you it, but the rest of the card is just so pretty!). I finished the card by punching three flowers using the flower punch from Itty Bitty Accents, and adding Pearl Basics Jewels 🙂

More Wedding cards to come next week! this time I’ve even managed to use this months Product of the Month!!!!!

Celebrate….. a bit of lovely lace!

Well, hello there!

I’ve got a few posts over the next week or so about a similar topic – weddings!

This card I made as a Congratulations card for a friends wedding, I love it, its cute, and simple, and pink!

Stampin' Up! UK Lovely Lace Big Shot

I used the Lovely Lace embossing folder (its so pretty!), to emboss some Pink Pirouette cardstock. The Congratulations is from Something to Say (have I mentioned my love of that Stamp Set much! its just so versitile). Then I finished the card with some White Organza Ribbon (I managed to tie a bow!!!!!) and some Basic Jewel Pearls!

I think this card would make a lovely Wedding or new baby girl card, but that Lovely Lace Embossing folder – just watch this space!!

Whats your favourite sentiment based stamp set at the moment? let me know in the comments below…
