One Layer Birthday

Stampin' Up! UK One Layer Birthday Card

My crafty mojo is still missing, and so I’m still sharing the stack of cards that have been abandoned on my desk. Stampin' Up! UK One Layer Birthday Card

This card was made purely to test out a colour combination. I do this quite often, make a quick card or panel in a couple of colours to see how well it works. I love the simplicity of this card, one layer is something I just don’t do, but I might have do start doing more often.

The stamps are from Perpetual Birthday Calender and Rose Wonder, the colours are Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride

However, once I had ‘finished’ it was a  little too simple, and so I added a splatter or Wink of Stella in Gold, and a trio of Crystal Effects spots.

Celebrate you

Last week I shared a whole heap of Birthday cards, and while I haven’t got a birthday card to share with you today, I have got a card to share that I made for a very special lady that’s going through a rough time. I’m hoping that she has received this card by now….. oh well, I’m sharing it anyway!

Celebrate you

I really enjoy sending ‘pick me up’ cards, you know those card sent for no reason other than to say, I’m thinking of you or It’s gonna get better. I thought about using one of those sentiments on this card, but really I wanted a You’re Awesome! card, a card to simply remind the person that they need some ‘my time’ and time to Celebrate you! I’m waffling …. maybe I should stop ….

Celebrate you - 2

The stamps used here are Perpetual birthday and Suite Sayings. I’m sure I took inspiration from a card I spotted on Pinterest for this one, but I have no memory of who or where I found it seeing as this photo has been sat on my PC for weeks and the card is long gone lol. I do remember the colours though; a set of my favourites – Bermuda Bay, Pool party and Mint Macaron. So pretty

Perpetual Birthday Card!

Stampin' Up! UK Perpetual Birthday Calendar Pootles

I’m currently preparing for my Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit Class at the weekend. (I’m sure to repeat this one, just let me know if you’d be interested!) and so the stamps have been out on my table, and I just had to use them on a card! My wonderful Upline Pootles regularly uses this stamp sets on cards, so I think I was channelling my inner Pootler with this one! I’ve even used Glimmer paper!

As you probably know by now I’m in the final few weeks before my Wedding! (almost sorted!) and so am also making heaps of cards as Thank you’s for various people. I will share some of these while I’m on my honeymoon, but I though I would share this one a little earlier (I know James doesn’t read the blog so I know he’s not going to see this!)

Stampin' Up! UK Perpetual Birthday Calendar Pootles

I bought I’m a special gift to open on the day, and needed a card to go with it. This is perfect!

I don’t usually do loads of layers, but like I said, channelling my inner Pootler here – the card base is a piece of Real Red card stock cut to 4 x 8″ and scored at 4″ to make a 4×4 card base. The layers are then Very Vanilla (3 3/4 x 3 3/4″), Gold Glimmer Paper (3 x 3″), Real Red (2 3/4 x 2 3/4″), and Very Vanilla (2 1/2 x 2 1/2″).

The stamping is also in Real Red using that cute scattered heart stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calender stamp set.

What do you think?

Marshmallow Box – Video Tutorial

Isn’t it always the way, when your doing a big ol’ deep clean that you come across something you had totally forgotten all about! well, that’s what happened to me last week. Deep cleaning my kitchen cupboards and this little box fell out on my head! First of all I thought it was a higher power being nice to me, rewarding my hard-work with Marshmallows, but alas the box was empty! However, it did inspire me to create this fab gift box – great for Marshmallows, or chocolates, a small candle, or just something little and cute!

Die Cut Birthday

Last week was James’ birthday. Guys birthday cards are always tricky, I try and keep things simple (and stay away from Pink!)

Stampin' Up! Uk mens birthday crazy about you

I love this card! It uses the Perpetual Birthday Calender Stamp set, stamped in Hello Honey, along with the ‘Birthday’ stamp from Crazy About You stamped in Lost Lagoon.

Crazy About You is available in a bundle with the Hello You thinlits dies – a collection of 4 word dies – Happy, Hello, Thanks and You – I’m finding myself reaching for these stamps and dies over and over again. I had a stall at a craft fair last weekend, and so many people made comment about these dies – ‘Wow, how did you do that?’ ‘Did you cut that yourself’ – Of course, I told the truth, I could NEVER hope to cut anything and it look this good!
