April Customer Thank You Cards

I might have made some changes to my Code Club in May, but my customers still receive a handmade card and sometimes an extra surprise too!

My April customers all received one of these cute cards at the start of this month. It uses the soon to be retired Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, along with a few goodies that are carrying forward too!

Quick and Easy Thank You card using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I LOVE a bit of Crumb Cake every now and again, and this card is a bit of a tribute to this lovely colour. The main panel of this card is embossed with the very lovely Country Florals Embossing Folder which is available in the new Annual Catalogue if you didn’t get your hands on it during Sale-a-bration.

Cute Thank You card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is taken from Petal Palette and is stamped in Early Espresso, die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies.

Make It Monday | Petal Palette Floating Frame Card

Over recent weeks the ‘Floating Frame’ card has gone somewhat viral on Facebook and Pinterest! I LOVE the idea, but I have to say I am not over keen on spending a fortune on Glad Press and Seal to get the technique to work. So, I had a think about how I could do this technique with things that are already in my craft room…. and hey, Washi Tape to the rescue!

Fun Floating Frame Technique using Washi Tape and Petal Palette from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I also couldn’t miss the chance to use the retiring Petal Palette stamp set one last time before the end of May, although I can already see some new stamp sets that are coming in the upcoming Annual catalogue that will work just as well.

This card has a few steps, and while I rest up and wait for baby to arrive I don’t have the energy to film a video for you. Instead, I thought I would break it down into steps…

How to create a Floating Frame Card…

  • Stamp the Petal Palette floral corner stamp in Memento Ink and use Blends to colour. I’ve used the Blackberry Bliss due and Granny Apple Green, with a hint of Flirty Flamingo here.
  • Use the coordinating dies to cut out the stamped images.
  • Then, using your grid paper as a guide, arrange the floral corners into a sort of loose frame shape.
  • Select 2 of the Rectangle Stitched Dies (I would suggest using two that aren’t particularly close in size) and arrange them on top of the die cuts, creating a frame.
  • Take a long-ish piece of Washi Tape and stick it onto your arm or clothes to remove some of the stick. Then take small pieces off this long tape and stick the dies to the die cuts.
  • Run the floral corners and stitched dies through your die cutting machine.
  • Before removing the Washi Tape, remove the pieces of die cut outside of the frame and add Dimensionals to the frame pieces.
  • Adhere to your card front, and then remove your Washi Tape and dies.
Floating frames card using Petal Palette and Stitched All Around from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is take from a different stamp set; Stitched All Around (which is going forward into the new catalogue), stamped in Blackberry Bliss to coordinate with the Floral corners and card base.

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

You know you’ve had a busy month when Facebook reminds you that not only do you have 5 events this week that you can’t remember… but that one of them is Kylie’s International Blog Highlights, and you can’t even remember what the theme is! Yes, this was me first thing on Monday morning… and if it wasn’t for our May Day Bank Holiday in the UK this post would not be here!

Fun Joy Fold Card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

This month’s Blog Highlight theme is Cards for Sara! I LOVE this idea… Sara Douglass is the CEO of Stampin’ Up! and she is incredible. So, to celebrate this Kylie has tasked us with creating a special card for her to say Thanks! Now, remember how I said I’d forgotten about this… well, in my panic to find some inspiration at 07:30 on a Monday morning, I jumped onto Sara’s Facebook Page and found one of the cards that Stampin’ Up! have sent to one of the recent Million Dollar Sellers. These cards are always so detailed, with heaps of layers, Designer Series Paper, embellishments and ribbons…. and so this card was born!

How to make a fancy fold Joy Fold card using Petal Palette and Petal Passion from Stampin' Up!

So, if you want them both, I’d grab them before the end of May and save yourself 10%! The stunning Petal Passion Designer Series Paper is on the Retiring List…. and it’s now while stocks last!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and please do head over to Kylie’s Blog to see the other Projects for her International Blog Highlights and to vote for you favourite creations!

InspireINK | Wedding Congratulations with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

Pretty in Pink Wedding Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah InspireINK Wedding Congratulations with Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Are you ready for some serious Wedding Inspiration this month?! I think the girls on the InspireInk team thought I was a bit mean when I made the suggestion of doing a Wedding theme this month… but I know that we are just gearing up for the Wedding Season and I am sure that Wedding or Congratulations inspiration is always much appreciated!

I just HAD to use my absolute favourite stamp set from this years Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue for this congratulations card… the Petal Palette bundle has been constantly out and on my desk since it arrived in my craft room back in December. I am SO excited that it is carrying over in this years Annual Catalogue too! I do have a confession to make about this card though… It was made it right at the beginning of the month, before Stampin’ Up! announced the Colour Revamp… and so it does uses Rose Red which is sadly about to retire!

How to make a Pretty Wedding Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The other retiring item on this card is the Petal Palette bundle… while the stamps and the dies are continuing into the new catalogue the 10% bundle discount will end on the 31st May. So it is definitely worth thinking about grabbing it sooner rather than later!

This card is a little different from the ones I usually share here on the blog, it’s a totally different size! The Blushing Bride card base is cut at 10 x 5″, and scored on the long edge at 5″ to create a 5 x 5″ square card (and I’m going to have to get out my Envelope Punch Board to make it a custom sized envelope too!). The layers are then cut at 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 and 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 ” to create the pretty layered effect.

InspireINK Blog Hop Wedding Card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The main detail on this card is concentrated in the bottom right hand corner… and I’ve been playing with layering again so we have:

  • stamped dotty boarder stamp from Petal Palette in Blushing Bride ink
  • Die cut boarder in Fresh Fig
  • Die cut floral corner from Champagne foil sheet
  • Two birds stamped from Petal Palette in Blushing Bride and Rose Red, die cut with the coordinating Petals and More Thinlits
  • Congratulations stamped in Fresh Fig and die cut before being popped up on Dimentionals
  • A trio of Clear Facet Gems

I hope that you have enjoyed you visit to StampinByHannah today, please do consider signing up for my regular emails (and exclusive email tutorials!) before you hop along to the next person on our Wedding Themed Blog Hop….

Make It Monday How to Make a Fun Acetate Window Card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Acetate Window Card using Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

Make It Monday

I have been loving playing with stamps recently! I know that sounds really strange, seeing as I work a Stamping business… but you know, sometimes I really don’t feel like stamping! But not recently, I have made SO many cards and projects that I am sure I have blog posts coming for months! I have been having so much fun playing with stamps, ink and paper, making fancy folds and learning new techniques… and I cannot wait to share all of it with you!

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Petal Palette Window Card using Stampin' Up! supplies

Speaking of having fun stamping, I had SO much fun creating this card! You guys know how much I have been LOVING the Petal Palette stamp set and die bundle, and when I first grabbed this set I knew I wanted to make some sort of window card with it. Then I found THIS card from Janet Wakeland… Janet used Stampin’ Blends to colour her Petals, and while I do LOVE the Blends, I haven’t quite got round to buying the Old Olive ones yet (they just keep getting missed off my order!) and so I reached for my Stampin’ Write Markers instead.

The Petal Palette Stamp set and coordinating Petals and More Thinlits are available as a bundle. Bundles are Awesome… as well as giving you an easy way to order coordinating products, you also save 10% when you order a Bundle. You can find ALL of the bundles currently available in my Stampin’ Up! webstore.

International Blog Highlights Floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Petal Palette

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

One of the many great things about being a part of Stampin’ Up! is joining in international crafting events, getting to share and craft with people around the world! I LOVE taking part in these events, and am always blown away by the wonderful creations of everyone taking part.

Kylie always sets us a theme or challenge as part of the International Blog Highlights, and this month its ‘Favourite Spring Summer or Sale-a-bration Item!’ Last month I shared one of my favourite packs of Designer Series Paper; True Gentlemen, and this month I’m sharing my favourite Stamp Set; Petal Palette!

How to make a watercolour floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I have recently been playing with adding lots of layers onto my cards, and this card is the results of that. There are actually two videos of this card too, the first was my Watercolouring Techniques post from last week, and then the second was in my email yesterday!

Because of the number of elements I though I would break it down for you:

  • Dotted stamp from Petal Palette stamped repeatidy in Tranquil Tide without reinking
  • Loops of Gold Metallic Thread
  • Several die cuts from the Petals & More Thinlits dies, cut from a watercoloured piece of Shimmery White card stock.
  • A Gold Glimmer Paper die cut branch
  • Congratulations stamped in Tranquil Tide and die cut using the coordinating dies
  • A trio of Gold Metallic Enamel Shape Hearts

Petal Palette Congratulations Card using Stampin' Up! products

I love the texture that is created when you die cut from a watercoloured panel, particularly when those die cuts are then layered. So pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and don’t forget to Vote for my card over at CraftyKylie.com!

Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

Pretty watercoloured birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

February is such a busy month for birthdays… in fact I have a birthday card every Tuesday from now probably until the middle of March! This weeks card is one I sent to James’ great Nanny in the middle of January for her 97th birthday. Nanny is such a big part of our family, and she has been unwell recently, so a super special card was in order. I know that she LOVED it… and kept pointing it out to people (Note to self; put my contact details on the next one!)

How to make a classy watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I shared part of this card over on my Instagram when I made it. I quite often share my creative process on my Insta-account, and you can find a heap of colour combinations on there too!

The flowers from Petal Palette are stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto Sahara Sand card stock for a tone on tone effect. Then I used the Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum to colour the flowers, and Bermuda Bay and Emerald Envy for the leaves. This flower would look AMAZING using a no-line colouring technique… think I might have to have another go with that!

Quick and fun watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from Birthday Blossoms, and is just a classic and simple birthday, stamped in Early Espresso and die cut with the dies that coordinate with Petal Palette.

This card is finished with a die cut branch, some Emerald Envy Splatter and Paper Pierced detailing around the edge.

Make It Monday | Petal Palette Team Swap Card

Petal Palette Just Because card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Petal Palette Team Swap Card

Make It Monday

On of the many joys of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is being part of a team, a group of like-minded people, sharing crafting and stamping. I absolutely LOVE being a part of the team. One of the things we do when we get together for events is swap… we each make a stack of the same card (or box, bag, notebook, or other crafty project) and then swap our project for others that other people have made. They are a great way of getting a heap of inspiration very quickly! Well, we recently held a postal swap for new catalogue inspiration, all coordinated by my lovely friend Amanda Charlesworth.

Make It Monday Petal Palette Team Swap card using Stampin' Up! products

I love creating cards with lots of White Space, particularly when making for swaps as it keeps things simple and nice and easy to mass produce. I did only make 6 of these, but it would have been just as easy to whip up a bigger batch.

I have been really enjoying the Petal Palette stamp and die bundle. You can buy the stamps and the dies separately, BUT I would suggest buying them together as you save 10%. I am such a sucker for a good font, and this stamp set not only has a great font, but really useful sentiments too.

How to use a blender pen with Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

If you would like to join in with our next Team Swap, and join my fabulous and growing team of Stampin’ Friends, you can… and now is a great time to do it as Stampin’ Up! have an awesome joining offer on during Sale-a-bration. You can find all the Sale-a-bration joining info on THIS Sale-a-bration Spotlight post, or if you have any questions do check out my Joining FAQ’s.
