Welcome to a brand new series of Blog Posts here at StampinByHannah! I’m not promising a How To… every week, but I will try (I have a few prepped and filmed already so I am hopeful!)

I recently spent the day stamping, making cards and generally having a great time crafting; I was prepping for an event and really needed some simple projects for someone who had never stamped before, and I came up with this great card:

Easy Birthday card using Tin of Cards and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up! UK

In the interest of keeping things simple, check out the video:

Frosted Medallions Birthday Card

Simple Birthday card using Frosted Medallions and Tin of Cards from Stampin' Up! UK

I spent most of last Sunday crafting, I set myself up in my lounge surrounded myself with stamp and paper and ink, and began to craft away….. I sat there for 6 hours and made a bunch of cards. I love bulk crafting like that, just being able to sit down and craft away. Anyway, after I had packed up and put everything back in its proper place, James got home and said ‘I need two cards before Tuesday’ well, I wasn’t going to have time on Monday to make anything, which meant that I needed to make 2 cards… now!

Simple Birthday card using Frosted Medallions and Tin of Cards from Stampin' Up! UK

James’ Granny and his brother share their birthday (and I had completely forgotten about them!), so 2 birthday cards were needed, ASAP. I’ll share Josh’s card on Tuesday next week, but this one is the card I made for Granny. I say card, but really I made 3, stamping wasn’t my friend! My original plan was for a sort of one layer card, with the sentiment stamped and masked, and then the medallions from Frosted Medallions stamped around the outside, but I just couldn’t get the stamping right, so instead I added the sentiment stamped on a die cut. No one will ever know that there is some seriously messy stamping underneath the Happy Birthday (well, they wouldn’t if I hadn’t told you!)

Tin of Cards Frosted Medallions Birthday card using Stampin' Up! UK products

The Happy Birthday is taken from the Tin of Cards stamp set, and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I’m sure you will have noticed my current obsession with the Layering Circles framelits, but I just cannot get enough of these, they are just the most perfect way of adding a sentiment.

This card is finished with a sprinkling of sequins taken from Blushing Bride sequin trim and a bow of Rich Razzleberry ribbon.

Scribble-y Tin of Cards

Congratulations card using Tin of Cards and Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! UK

I’m sure I’m not the only one who had an urgent scrabbling around at the end of last week to make a card for the lucky Students in the family who received their GCSE results! My Sister-in-law got her results last Thursday, and the whole family is so super proud of her and the results that the rest of us could only dream off (read: swot!) But, still, I needed a card…. in a hurry!

Congratulations card using Tin of Cards and Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! UK

Cards for teenagers are always tricky (I have another teenage birthday card at the end of the week!) but I’m quite happy with this one. The combination is awesome, bright and fun! Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Basic Black.

You know how I’m a sucker for a good font, and I picked this sentiment totally based on the fact that I LOVE the font. It’s taken from Tin of Cards, and is stamped in Memento Black ink. I did actually die cut the sentiment out, using a circle framelit, before mounting it behind the scribble die cut.

Congrats to you card featuring Tin of Cards and Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! UK

I hadn’t played with the Swirl Bird stamp set or coordinating dies in a while, but they just seemed perfect for this card. The splatter is from the Swirly Bird set, in my early card making details like that were totally missing, but I’m loving adding extra details and elements onto my cards, I did almost add some loops of Metallic Thread to this one, but I decided that might be too much! (I know, I’m not sure that is a thing either!)

This one is finished with a touch of Wink of Stella on each one of the flowers for a bit of added sparkle!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | May 2016

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Card English Garden

Stampin' Up! Sketch ChallengeIts that time again, I am so excited to see what everyone has made based on the sketch this month! I have chosen to use some Designer Series Paper that is on the retiring list and will sadly leave us on 31st May, but I am sure that some of the girls will show me some sneaky peaks of new products, and I cannot wait!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge May 2016

This months awesome Sketch is brought to us by Kathleen from lilypopcrafts.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge English Garden Birthday card using Stampin' Up! products

My challenge with this sketch was the diagonal element. I selected the Designer Series Paper – English Garden – based on the flowers on the sketch, but new I didn’t want to cut the corner off my paper. I had a little play around with the paper before coming up with this paper curl idea. I curled the Designer Series Paper around my paper piercer (you could use a pencil or a paint brush, anything round would work to be honest) and held the curl with a few Mini Glue Dots.

The Happy Birthday is from the Tin of Cards stamp set, and fits perfectly into the Decorative Label punch. I really wanted to create a boarder around the sentiment, and so cut apart a further 2 decorative label punch pieces (in Melon Mambo) to create a boarder.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop Birthday Envelope English GardenOnce I had created the card I realised that it wouldn’t fit in a standard envelope, and so grabbed another piece of the same Designer Series paper and my Envelope Punch Board to create custom envelope.

Instructions:

Designer Series Paper – 8 7/8 x 8 7/8″ (I’m sticking to Imperial Measurements today, because I find them easier on the Envelope Punch Board)

Punch and Score on the first side at 3 3/8, and on the same sideat 4 1/8″

Rotate the paper by 90 degrees, line up the previous score lines with the marker on the punch board, punch and score. Repeat on all four sides.

Fold and burnish on the score lines, to create your envelope

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Card English GardenI completed the envelope with a belly band of Night of Navy card stock (26 x 5 cm, Scored on the long side at 11, 12.5, 23.5 and 25 cm). The sentiment is heat embossed in white, and the flowers and butterfly are taken from the Garden in Bloom Stamp set.

Hello Flowering Fields

Stampin' Up! Flower Fields Sale-a-bration Card

I’m loving this years Sale-a-bration event. I really must day ‘Thanks’ to each and every person who has chosen to shop with me for the first time this year, I had a bumper January, and am hoping that this year is going to be awesome. I always send Thank You cards to those who choose to shop with me, with an extra special something for people who use my Code Club Code. If you haven’t received a card from me it may be that you have selected ‘No Contact’, if you think you have missed out, please drop me a message!

Stampin' Up! Flower Fields Sale-a-bration Card

This card uses one of my Sale-a-bration favourites, Flowering Fields. Stamped in Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry, with a piece of the coordinating Designer Series Paper Wildflower Fields.

The ‘Hello’ is from the Tin of Cards stamp set; I’m loving this font! I’m a sucker for a good font, and Stampin’ Up! are really knocking it out of the park with typefaces at the moment, just stunning. The Hello is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on a piece of Whisper White punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. I’ve done a bit of punch layering (unusual for me) with a 1 3/8″ Old Olive circle and a Rich Razzleberry Scallop Circle in the 1 3/4″ size. Very pretty

Stampin' Up! Flowering Fields Hello

I added a piece of Whisper White Satin Ribbon and a bow to finish
