Fine Tip Glue Techniques with Beautiful You from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge 016 Farewell Dapper Denim…

Inspire.Create.Challenges Colour Challenge April 2018

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fun farewell to the 2016-2018 In-Colours… I cannot quite believe that we’ve had these for 2 years already! I thought as we bid these colours goodbye, I would update one of the projects I made to introduce them! You can find that blog post HERE!

How to use Fine Tip Glue on your cards... as something other than an adhesive with Beautiful You from Stampin' Up!

These cards use one of my favourite techniques; Masking with Fine-Tip Glue. It’s super easy to do, but it does take a little time as the glue has to dry (and it’s better if you leave it overnight). Here I have stamped two of the images from the Beautiful You stamp set onto Very Vanilla Notecards, using Archival Basic Black ink (but staz-on would work just as well). Then use Fine-Tip glue to ‘colour in’ the stamped images, making sure to cover the area fully.

Once the glue is dried, you can then stamp over it. I’ve used Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim, and Emerald Envy, and one of the stamps from Touches of Texture. Where the glue is the ink won’t stick. Then, take a Stampin’ Sponge and sponge on more ink, making sure to wipe away the ink from the glue.

Quick and fun card collection using Beautiful You from Stampin' Up!

I can hear you asking why I haven’t used Flirty Flamingo… well, it’s one of the colours coming back as part of the Stampin’ Up! Colour Revamp! I am super excited about this, and will be sharing all of the details about that with you really soon!

Don’t forget to pop over to Inspire.Create.Challenges and see what the other members of the Design Team have created with these fabulous colours! And, if we have inspired you… why not share your makes with us over there too…

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

This month’s Blog Highlight theme is; Love.

Now, November is not a very Love-y month in my household. It’s halfway between our wedding anniversary and our dating anniversary, although it is the month my parents got married. Still, things are busy busy around here at the moment with issues around the sale of our home, James’ finishing his degree and me being away for 2 weeks this month.

However, I recently listened to a Podcast about developing gratitude (I’m on a bit of a self-help kick at the moment in a bid to ward off my worsening anxiety) which suggested writing love notes to your spouse. This is something we have NEVER done, but I think the idea is lovely…. so, this card is heading for my wonderful Husband James.

Love you card using Touches of Texture from Stampin' Up!

I know he will say its girly, but that is fine…. I had LOADS of fun making it, and it’s what I write inside that is most important anyway!

So… this card, there are 2 stamp sets at work here; Touches of Texture and Labeler Alphabet. Touches of Texture is one of those stamp sets that I LOVE, but find REALLY hard to use! I actually made this card twice, the first time I layered loads of the texture stamps together, it looked like a dogs dinner and I turned the card stock over and started again! (Never forget, there are two sides to a piece of card stock!)

The side of the card is stamped in Pear Pizzazz. I think this is my favourite stamp in this set, its looks like a sample of a piece of vintage lace; very pretty. I made some wedding table settings with it a few months ago that were stamped in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla it looked very classic.

It just looked a little plain with just the stamping, so I added a piece of Gold Washi Tape from the Year of Cheer Washi Pack.

The flowers are stamped in Archival Basic Black, and coloured in using Watercolour Pencil and Blender pen. I haven’t used my Watercolour Pencils for AGES,  and with the launch of Stampin’ Blends at the start of the month I realised that they had been sat on my shelf unloved. The flowers were the die cut using the largest oval Stitched Shapes framelit, and some Gold Heat Embossed splatter added thanks to the Touches of Texture stamp set again!

I even managed to stamp the inside of this card with the Touches of Texture stamp set, picking up on the colours from the flowers on the front.

I hope that you have enjoyed my project this evening. Do check out Kylie’s Blog for the other wondering Love themed projects and don’t forget to vote for your favourite too!

Global Design Project #079 | Theme Challenge

Global Design Project theme challenge using Carousel Birthday from Stampin' Up! to make a quick and easy fun birthday card

Right, lets get back on track… I am much better, my work hours are starting to even out again and I have a little more time to craft, much be time to take on another Global Design Project Challenge then!

This week’s theme challenge was a bit of a head scratcher…. I really wanted to use the Ferris Wheel stamp from Carousel Birthday but when I got the stamp set out the horse image jumped out of the box at me – so that is what I used!

I have been a bit naughty with this card actually, there are 3 stamp sets playing here… but I wanted a simple font for the sentiment, and I needed a bit of splater! sometimes 3 is better than 1, right?

The horse is heat embossed in Gold onto a circle cut using the Stitched Shapes dies; I am loving using them with the Layering Circles Framelits at the moment (can you tell?!). I almost coloured the image with Stampin’ Write Markers but it just didn’t feel quite right, so I grabbed for my current favourite stamp… the fine splatter from Touches of Texture. The splatter appears again on the background (a twice embossed sheet of Very Vanilla, embossed first with Gold Embossing powder then ran through the Lucky Stars embossing folder).

The sentiment is hand cut from Crazy About You and is simply stamped in Watermelon Wonder.

I hope you have enjoyed my card post today, particularly as I only made it at 10PM last night (yes, I quickly photographed it and got in on the blog scheduled for this morning! I am still a little behind with the rest of the week though!)

See you again soon

Pootlers Blog Hop | Special Reason

Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop project using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

Pootles Stampin' Up! Team Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Wow I am so proud of all the girls this month. As you may know I organise and run this blog hop, and we hop as a team to celebrate the launch of a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue. We haven’t hopped since September last year, and with the start of the year being so busy I wasn’t expecting to have such a big hop…. well these girls are awesome, we have 20 lovely ladies sharing their projects with you today. Check out the end of this blog post to find a list of all the ladies and links to their blogs, please check them out and leave them some comment love!

Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop project using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I thought I would challenge myself to use a stamp and die set that I haven’t spent much time with, but also to use a new (to me) colour combination. So I grabbed the Special Reason stamp and die bundle, and the colours Night of Navy, Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry for this card.

Pootles Papercraft Team Blog Hop Spring Summer Catalogue using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I have added an extra stamp set in here, I recently found a home in my craft room for Touches of Texture, but I hadn’t had chance to use it either. So I’ve added a splatter of Crushed Curry, behind the die cuts and sentiment.

Before I go, I would also love to remind you that we are in the middle of Sale-a-bration! and so can get a FREE Sale-a-bration item everytime you spend £45 in a single order, and if you grabbed everything I used to make this card you would get to pick TWO freebies! Yay!

I hope you have enjoyed this project, now please do click on to the see the other projects in our blog hop!
