Congratulations card idea using Botanical Layers from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah. Today I have a simple Congratulations card to share with you. I haven’t actually delivered this card at the time that this blog post goes live, BUT I don’t think my cousin (or any other member of my family!) actually follow this blog, and so I’m sure I’m fairly safe to share it!

Usually, for a Wedding Congratulations card I’m sure most people would go all out. In fact, I’ve done similar before, with layers and dimension, texture and lovely colours. However, that’s not really appropriate for the happy couple today. So, I’ve created something a bit more ‘Them’ that the norm for such an occasion.

This card uses Botanical Layers, which is a stamp set that has carried over from last year and I think it was a bit buried in last years catalogue so I’m so pleased to have it for another year. The leaves are stamped in Soft Seafoam and Lost Lagoon. While the sentiment, taken from Best Family Ever, is in Calypso Coral.

For all this card is simple, I have still ensured that it has a stamped envelope and that the inside hasn’t been neglected either.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, but before you leave StampinByHannah today, please do consider subscribing to my emails, or following me on Instagram!

Mr. and Mrs. for Inspire.Create.Challenges #001

Inspire.Create.Challenge Wedding Card Colour Challenge using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

Hello! Oh I am so excited … and a little nervous about today’s project! Today marks the start of something brand new here at StampinByHannah! Today is the launch of the Inspire.Create.Challenge Papercraft challenge blog… of which I am a Design Team Member and challenge coordinator! Every other Wednesday I will be sharing a project based around the challenge here on my blog… but I would LOVE you to join in too! You can find a heap of inspiration and ideas over on the Inspire.Create.Challenge Blog, as well as how to enter!

Inspire Create Challenge Colour Challenge #001

Our first challenge uses our challenge colours! I cannot wait to see what the other ladies have made using this slightly unusual colour combo!

Year of Cheer Wedding Card using Stampin' Up! products

I have used the Cheers to the Year Stamp set here to create a fun, yet simple wedding card. I love that swirly circle stamp… when I saw it in the catalogue it reminded me of THESE cards I made last year with a different stamp set. I have stamped the circles with Calypso Coral ink, and added the heart stamp from the same Cheers to the Year stamp set in Basic Grey.

Inspire.Create.Challenge Wedding Card Colour Challenge using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and has been heat embossed in White on a strip of Calypso Coral card stock.

This card is finished with scattering of White Perfect Accents that I have pealed the backing off of because the stamped layer is Shimmery White Card stock and is just slightly off white. However, the camera hasn’t pick up on these particularly well.

Do go over to Inspire.Create.Challenges to see what the other lovely members of the Design Team have created…

Global Design Project #099 | Wedding/Anniversary

Guys Wedding Anniversary Card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Well, hello there….. I’m finally blogging on my new site! So, hello, nice to see you…. and to celebrate this special occasion I have this weeks entry into the Global Design Project!

Actually…. its more of a double celebration, seeing as it is my 2nd Wedding Anniversary today! Yay…. I managed 24 months without James wanting (or trying) to kill me! I am taking this as a massive success…. and I do hope it continues a little longer!

As a card maker, and seeing as this weeks GDP challenge was totally meant to spur me into action, I thought I should make a card for James to celebrate… I will update you later as to whether he has bought (or made) me one!

Global Design Project Wedding Anniversary Congratulations card for men using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Now… a anniversary card for a guy, is a little tricky, but I kept it neutral and I think it works! The Background is stamped using the Sheet Music Stamp set and Smoky Slate ink. To create the effect I didnt ink the whole stamp… but dabbed my ink pad down a couple of times in the middle. Although they are hard to see, I then embossed the heart die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits into the card stock. I should mention at this point that I used Thick Whisper White rather than standard weight to ensure it embossed cleanly.

Guys Wedding Anniversary Card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

The card was then completed with a diamond die cut from Silver Glimmer Paper, Leaves die cut from Vellum and embossed with the Hexagon 3D Embossing Folder, loops of Silver Metallic Thread, that cute sentiment (from Oh So Eclectic!) and a trio of Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Your wondering about those flowers… they are lovely aren’t they! Yes, they are fake… think they cost a total of £2.50 off ebay…. and they were (are) my wedding bouquet. I LOVE them, and the sit in a vase in my lounge normally…. but this photo needed some colour, and I thought they were fitting!

What do you think of the new blog look? I am in LOVE!

Sale-a-bration Wednesday | Delicate Details

Sale-a-bration 2017 wedding card using Delicate Details from Stampin' Up! UK

Sale-a-bration from Stampin' Up! UK

Are you Loving this years Sale-a-bration?!

It’s it just the most awesome event, heaps of free goodies just for grabbing your crafting essentials (or something a bit special too) I am loving the selection of Sale-a-bration items this year. But I think one of the sets that will likely stay in my long term collection is Delicate Details…. I can see some gorgeous wedding stationary being made with this one, and you could even get the stamp set for free when you buy the card stock! Awesome!

Sale-a-bration 2017 wedding card using Delicate Details from Stampin' Up! UK

How pretty is this card? and super easy to do to, I added 3 of the boarder stamps from the set to a large clear block, and then stamped them repeatedly using Versamark ink. Then added white Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it. The background was added in Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder using the Sponge Brayer. The Congratulations sentiment is taken from the So In Love stamp set (which comes bundled with the MOST gorgeous dies ever!)

Want to get these fabulous stamps for FREE? Its really easy, each time you spend £45 in a single order during Sale-a-bration (now to the end of March) you get to choose a free gift! There are 12 to choose from; stamps, Designer Series Paper, ribbon, a card kit, and a great card storage tin in Gold! If you are ordering Stampin’ Up! will ask you which gift you have chosen once you have added £45 to your basket. Oh, and if you order multiples of £45 you get multiple gifts… so that means that if you spend £90 you get to choose 2, £135 you get 3 etc.

You can also get stamps from the Annual or Spring Summer catalogue for FREE, you just need to choose the Ultimate Stampin’ Bundle and grab a Starter Kit! You will then get to choose 2 stamp sets for FREE, that could be a saving of £90! how awesome is that!

Question of the day: Which stamp sets are you going to choose for FREE in your Ultimate Stampin’ Bundle?

Of course, I don’t get to choose … I grabbed my starter kit almost 3 years ago and I am SO glad that I did! But if I had to choose, hmmm, I think it would be Letters for You and Butterfly Basics!

Make It Monday | Floral Phrases Wedding Card

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Congratulations card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! UK

Make It Monday with Stampin' Up!

Yay! Make It Monday has returned, sorry for the break, but what with work and my holidays filming sort of went out of the window! But, I am back now, and I cannot wait to get into more videos too.

Do you remember last week I shared THIS card? and said that I would do you all a video tutorial, well I’ve done it, and you can check it out below.

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Congratulations card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! UK

I really loved the Pool Party version of this card that I sent for the Wedding I attended a couple of Weekends ago, but I actually think this Night of Navy version is even better, bold and striking.

Measurements:

Half a sheet of A4 (10.5 x 29.7 cm)

Position the edge die at the very end of one side of the card stock, and then position the detailed die next to it. Run this through the Big Shot, repeat at the other end of the card stock with the larger detailed die.

Add a matt of Whisper White between the two die cut pieces, and score between the die cut and the Whisper White card stock

Wedding Congratulations card using Floral Phrases and detailed Floral dies from Stampin' Up! UK

I’m loving these dies, they are just so pretty. I do have one more top tip though; the Precision Base Plate for your Big Shot is a MUST for this one, the die is so detailed. The Big Shot Die Brush is also something that I would consider if you were cutting a lot of these, it makes getting all those bits of card stock out of the die SOOOO much easier!

Memory Keeping | Wedding Album Update

Wedding themed scrapbook album using Stampin' Up! UK products

A little while ago I mentioned that I had started compiling my Wedding Album. I will openly admit that I’m not sticking completely to Stampin’ Up! products for this one, mainly because it’s such a big project and we don’t currently have any wedding themed Project Life kits, but I am using my Stampin’ Up! inks, some stamps, punches and odd bits and pieces. Wedding themed Scrapbook using Project Life and traditional scrapbook pages

I thought I would share with you today on my progress. My wedding was now over 12 months ago, and I was hoping to have it completed by now, but with one thing and another life has got in the way. Last month I took the opportunity to print all 711 wedding photos taken by our official photographer, I had them all printed in 6 x 4 size, although I knew some would need re-printing in a smaller format – I preferred to get them all printed first so I could work out exactly which photos I wanted to use. I’m using a Project Life base for my album, although I am adding traditional 12 x 12 scrapbook pages in too, and I’m thinking about maybe some A4 pages as well.

Wedding themed scrapbook album using Stampin' Up! UK products

So, my album is coming along quite nicely. I started the album about 18 months ago (yes, before the wedding) to include some of the photographs we had taken at out Engagement shoot. I planned out my album carefully; choosing the classic Black binder from Stampin’ Up! and have both a pack of the Becky Higgins Project Life page protectors as well as the Stampin’ Up! branded ones, although I still need to grab a few more standard 12 x 12 page protectors for my traditional layouts.

Most of the Project Life cards I’m using for the PL sections of the album are from the (a think now retired) Wedding themed pack from Becky Higgins, as well as some cards from some other companies (like I said, I’m not sticky religiously to Stampin’ Up! here), but for the 12 x 12 pages I’m using a mixture of Stampin’ Up! stamps as well as some Patterned Paper collected over the years from various different places and companies. This particular page though is very Stampin’ Up! heavy.

Wedding scrapbook using Project Life by Stampin' Up! and traditional scrapbook layoutsThe glitter paper is Silver Glimmer Paper from Stampin’ Up! while the stamped images are taken from Birthday Blossoms and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant. I just love this series of photo’s from our day, walking with my dad down the aisle, that middle picture makes me cry almost every single time I look at it!

Wedding scrapbook layout using Stampin' Up! UK products

I wish I could remember where these letters are from, but I have had them for so long I have no idea anymore. They probably came in a kit years ago, but which one and what brand I couldn’t say. The layout was completed with a scattering of Stampin’ Up! Metal Rimmed Pearls and and the date stamped on the Vellum tag.

I am really enjoying putting our Wedding album together, and I am sure I will be posting about it again once it is finished, anyone want a video walk-through once it’s finished?

Detailed Floral Wedding Card

Floral Phrases Wedding Card using Stampin' Up! UK products

Last week I spend several days down in South West Wales for a friends Wedding. I love making wedding papercrafts, and have made a few sets of wedding stationary over the past couple of years. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to make anything for this wedding, just a pretty card to wish the happy couple a great day.

Their wedding invitation was a bang on trend watercolour effect post-card in a pretty pool colour, so I took inspiration from that to make their wedding card. I do this quite often when making thank you cards, or cards for a specific event. Using colours or themes from the invitation / day / party to make the card.

Wedding Congratulations Card using Floral Phrases and Detailed Floral Thinlits dies from Stampin' Up! UK

The Floral Phrases stamp and die bundle is perfect for weddings; and would make beautiful invitations. If you grab the bundle (rather than the stamps and dies separately) you save 10%. I’m loving the HUGE selection of bundles in this years catalogue, there are just so many great chances to bundle and save!

The card was a little tricky to work out, I will try and get some proper measurements for you and maybe do a video in the next few weeks, but I had to make this particular card in a bit of a hurry so didn’t get the chance to write it down! It uses half a sheet of A4 (A4 cut length-ways). The die pack includes 3 dies, the two different sizes of details floral dies and one edge piece. I used the edge to cut off either end of the sheet of A4, and the cut the detailed dies – the larger one at one end and the shorter piece at the other.

Floral Phrases Wedding Card using Stampin' Up! UK products

The it was a simple case of scoring the card just underneath each die cut piece to form the card. The Whisper White piece of card stock required a little bit of trimming to get it to fit, but like I said, I will get the measurements and hopefully a video sorted for you in the coming weeks.

I added a sentiment using the 1-1/4″ and 1 3/8″ circle dies, with a hole punched at the top for a piece of bakers twine. After I tied the bow I did stick this to the top of the punched circles with a glue dot as it wanted to move around too much for my liking!

Pool Party Wedding Congratulations Card using Detailed Floral Thinlits and Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! UK

The sentiment inside is taken from the Floral Phrases stamp set (as was the outer sentiment), stamped in Pool Party to match the rest of the card.

What is your favourite type of card to make? I would love to know, let me know in the comments section below

Floral Congratulations

Rose Red Congratulations Card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up!

I have been making quite a few Congratulations card recently, friends getting married or moving house, I was a little disappointed when I noticed that I don’t have a New Home type stamp in my collection, but I felt that Congratulations worked well enough for a couple of friends who recently moved into their first House.

Rose Red Congratulations Card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up!

I’m just loving the floral image in the Floral Phrases stamp set, I have seen it coloured in with Stampin’ Write markers, but I love using it simply in a single colour. Here it has been stamped twice in Rose Red. The stamp does all the work for you here, no need to do anything other than stamp to get this fabulous multi-tone image. So pretty

Congratulations card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up!The sentiment is stamped, again in Rose Red, on a strip of Very Vanilla card stock and layered with Rose Red Card stock. I had to add a few loops of Gold Metallic Thread to this one, I just couldn’t help myself! before adding the senitment with a piece of Adhesive Foam Strip.

Today is a Perfect Day …

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UK

Ok, so, it may be raining (or not, I’m writing this in advance as usual!) but I have the Perfect congratulations card for you today!

I am just loving the new Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and coordinating punch. I have mentioned this many many times but one of the things that made me fall in LOVE with Stampin’ Up! is the coordinating products; the stamps with matching dies and punches, the sentiments that fit perfectly into the punches, the ribbon / embellishments / card stock / Designer Series Paper that match the ink colours. Fabulous! And this card is one of those that uses a Stamp / Punch bundle

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UKThis great stamp set not only has a coordinating punch, but uses 2-step stamping to create this pretty faux-watercolour look. I’m a sucker for a good technique, and as you know I LOVE watercolour, but having stamps to do all the hard work for you is simply awesome!

Here I have stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo, while the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

Punch Stamp Bunch of Blossoms Stampin' Up! UKI think that my favourite part of this card though is the heat embossed sentiment on Vellum. This soft look is created by stamping with Smoky Slate onto the Vellum, and because the ink dries very slowly on the Vellum you have time to add clear embossing powder and heat setting it! So pretty
